How to survive your schooldays? Nowadays, it's hard to imagine writing school papers and preparing for class presentations without a computer.
In this lesson we will deal with buying a laptop as it is more portable and takes less space than a traditional computer (with screen and hard drive) in a student room, full of other stuff already. What to look for in a laptop? We have some tips for you, so check them out!
First and foremost, you will need Internet access for various purposes, so you'd better make sure the laptop has wi-fi built in. Obviously, you will still be able to use a traditional cable for the Internet connection, but in case you wish to enjoy Internet access everywhere you go, wi-fi is a must. Some newer models also possess Bluetooth, which enables you to receive and send files or photos faster and easier.

The next thing is memory. Laptops nowadays come with at least 60GB, but probably it's better to invest in 80GB or even more for decent results. You will also need to make sure you have enough RAM (at least 1GB) if you want Windows Vista to run smoothly. Another idea is to invest in an external hard drive for that purpose.
Laptops are supposed to give you some fun as well so when choosing one make sure it has a decent graphic card. This will enable you to enjoy playing your favourite computer games.
And last but not least, it is important that your laptop has a rewritable DVD drive of a high quality if you want to make back-up copies of all important documents, files and photos.
It is also good to consider whether you want a traditional PC or rather want to go for chic looks and prefer a stylish and old-school Mac. Both models have their prons and cons, e.g. a Mac is usually more expensive but, at the same time, its operating system is more user-friendly and easier to master than Windows.
